The Perkins 400 Series represents the entry-level diesel engine family of Perkins for generator sets. Featuring 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder models, this range is optimized for compact and high-performance applications
These engines are designed for an optimal weight-to-power ratio and proven reliability, making them suitable for both intermittent and continuous operation—whether powering basic loads or serving as backup generators.
The series aims to deliver low operating costs and high performance in an ultra-compact package. They ensure economical and long-lasting operation for both primary and standby functions. Most of the engines in this lineup are naturally aspirated.

For decades, the Perkins 400 Series engines have been a benchmark in the industry. Their 4-cylinder inline architecture offers unmatched versatility, making them suitable for a wide range of applications—from agriculture and construction to power generation :

A 3-cylinder inline diesel engine with electronically controlled common-rail and turbocharging, delivering approximately 49 hp (36 kW). It meets the latest Stage V emission standard and is used in modern off-road machines, such as compact agricultural equipment, light construction machinery, hydraulic power units, high-pressure systems, and next-generation small generators.

A model from the same generation but equipped with 4 cylinders, available with or without an intercooler (T or TA version). It can deliver 61 hp (45 kW) (T) or 68 hp (55 kW) (TA), and is widely used in similar applications.

The “New Engine” division ensures the best integration into your applications by customizing construction and electronic management, as well as adding accessories (engine harnesses, control panels) in our workshop.

The Perkins 400 Series is a wide family of engines ranging from 0.5 to 2.2 liters. The 4-cylinder 404-22 model sits at the top of the 400 Series engine range. It combines high performance, low operating costs, and compact size. The 404-22 is the ideal engine for a wide variety of off-highway applications. It is available with indirect injection (IDI) or common-rail fuel systems.
This very quiet 2.2-liter engine delivers improved performance and low operating costs in a small, efficient package.

The 3-cylinder 403-15 model is the mid-range engine of the 400 Series, combining performance, low operating costs, and compact size.
Overall, the 403-15 is the ideal engine for small industrial applications. Its simple and robust mechanical fuel system makes it easy to install and maintain.
SECODI offers a wide range of Perkins engine exchange solutions (standard, reconditioned, new). For this 400 Series, we notably offer new exchange: the security of an identical brand-new Perkins engine.
